The tea towels are made by the women artisans at Chimmuwa in Mae Sot, Thailand. Chimmuwa was founded by Sylvia and Nor Nor with the purpose of supporting young refugee and migrant women from Myanmar.
Hill tribes in villages in the Northern part of Thailand weave the cotton by hand, creating beautiful patterns. Chimmuwa then purchases the handwoven cotton fabric and turns it into amazing items such as these tea towels. In the video you can hear more about how the cotton fabric is produced.
